Elizabeth Burrell Liz Burrell is the Program Director at the American Academy of Diplomacy (AAD), where she works collaboratively with Ambassador Ronald E. Neumann (ret.), President of AAD, to manage internal operations and expand targeted public programming and outreach activities. Ms. Burrell previously served as the Deputy Director of Policy at the Coalition for Government Procurement. In that position, she was the primary staff liaison for assigned committees and was responsible for researching, drafting and developing association positions and policy statements on matters that pertain to those committees. Ms. Burrell represented the association in meetings before Congress and regulatory agencies as needed, and assisted the Director of Policy with other policy research. Prior to her time at the Coalition, she worked at the New Zealand Embassy’s Trade and Enterprise Office where she assisted with U.S. procurement market research. Before coming to DC, Ms. Burrell worked on elections and legislative research at a public affairs and political consulting firm in Sacramento, CA. Ms. Burrell has been on volunteer staff with Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP), an organization dedicated to fostering the next generation of foreign policy leaders, for two years and is currently serving as the Vice President for Programming. She received her B.A from the University of California, Davis with majors in international relations and political science and a minor in communications. |
