Internships

The Academy offers semester-long and quarter long internships throughout the year. We seek an enthusiastic individual eager to learn about the practice of diplomacy and to contribute to the internal operations and outreach work of our organization. The intern’s responsibilities will include learning how a nonprofit organization functions through various projects, including: communication with Academy members, event and meeting planning and implementation, updating and proofreading content for the Academy website and newsletter, updating contact lists, attending relevant meetings or congressional hearing, and general office support. The candidate must be available a minimum of three days per week during business hours (9a-5p).

The successful candidate will support the Managing Director, Finance/Operations Assistant, and President, and will assist considerably in the frequent meetings sponsored by the Academy. Ideal candidates possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and are self-motivated, reliable, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and are flexible and willing to work as part of a team in a collegial, yet professional office environment. Experience with Microsoft Office essential, and Adobe Dreamweaver a plus.

This is an unpaid position; credit availability reliant upon school requirements.
