Diplomacy and Nonproliferation

Panel Discussion and Dinner
The Performing Arts Center, Brookings, South Dakota
March 24, 2010

The prospect of Iran becoming a nuclear weapons state, the possibility that a terrorist group will gain access to nuclear weapons or other weapons of mass destruction, or the prospect of an increasingly destabilized Pakistan--a nuclear armed country-- all make avoiding nuclear proliferation one of America's highest priorities. How can diplomacy prevent the spread of nuclear weapons?  To discuss this highly relevant and topical issue, the American Academy of Diplomacy and the South Dakota World Affairs Council hosted a panel discussion that featured Ambassador Avis Bohlen as the keynote speaker.
