Richard A. Boucher

Richard Boucher, diplomat turned educator, now teaches diplomacy at Brown University where he is Ambassador-in-Residence and Senior Fellow for International Studies. Until 2013, he served as Deputy Secretary General of the OECD, promoting economic reform in major developing countries. Over a thirty-two-year distinguished career in the U.S. Foreign Service, including as Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia and as Spokesman for six Secretaries of State, he achieved the highest possible rank: career Ambassador. In addition to his teaching, Ambassador Boucher acts as an Advisor to HSBC Bank in South Asia on preventing financial crime.
