Guests are asked to arrive at the State Department visitor entrance (22nd and C Streets) and to allow 15 minutes for security screening.

- The Benjamin Franklin room is the largest of the Diplomatic Reception at State
- The Academy Awards ceremony takes place each year in late fall / early winter
- Over a hundred Academy members and guests gathered for the Awards Luncheon
- Ambassador Neumann, President of the American Academy of Diplomacy, was the moderator of the ceremony
- The Annenberg Award is given in recognition of an individual or group who has made exemplary contributions to the field of American diplomacy
