Press Release | Academy Supports “Ambassador Oversight and Transparency Act”

Washington, D.C. – Appointing fully-qualified ambassadors to represent the United States and conduct diplomacy abroad is a matter of the highest national interest. The American Academy of Diplomacy strongly believes in and has advocated measures to strengthen the qualification of individuals appointed as United States ambassadors. The “Ambassador Oversight and Transparency Act” advances this goal of improved ambassadorial selection and oversight. The Academy commends Senators Kaine and Booker for introducing the bill.
