The Limits of Partnership
Professor Angela Stent
The American Academy of Diplomacy is proud to announce that it has chosen Georgetown University Professor Angela Stent’s study of post-Cold War U.S.-Russian relations, The Limits of Partnership, as the winner of its 2014 Douglas Dillon Award. The prize is presented annually to the author of the best book released that year on the practice of American diplomacy. Professor Stent’s study was published by the Princeton University Press.
Commenting on the award, which will be formally presented to Professor Stent at the State Department on November 19, the chairman of the Academy’s book selection committee, Ambassador (ret.) Howard Schaffer, called The Limits of Partnership “a comprehensive, informative, and highly readable account of how Washington and Moscow repeatedly tried and failed over the past quarter century to develop a solid working relationship. It is must reading for anyone who wants to understand the present U.S.-Russian confrontation.”
