Prior to becoming the Vice President of the Cohen Group, Jones was the President for Europe and the Middle East Government and International Relations for Bechtel Corporation,before retiring from the Foreign Service in August 2017. He has served as Ambassador to Iraq; Ambassador to Jordan; Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Near East Affairs (NEA); Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs (EUR); and Deputy Chief of Mission to Embassies Baghdad and Cairo. Other foreign tours included: Turkey, El Salvador and Colombia.
